Finding an Honest and Reliable Veterinarian

Most veterinarian specialists can be inexperienced which can result into your pet's health condition to get more worst than before. Sad to say that there aren't too many veterinarian schools around these days the reason why most vets are not properly trained. In most cases, most veterinarians are not well trained enough about rabbit-medicines. And most of them are quite greedy where all they want is your money.

An honest and reliable pet veterinarian will directly tell you if he or she can help your bunny. If he or she cannot then the vet will refer you into a much well experienced veterinarian that can handle the health issue being suffered by your own pet.

Its really nice to have an honest veterinarian as it ensures the safety of your pet. When you have such an honest and reliable vet, you should consider referring him or her to all other people whom you know who also have their own pets.

So how do you find an honest and reliable veterinarian?

1. Gathering a List of Veterinarians

Use every possible means of obtaining contacts to all veterinarians that are close around your area. You can check your local Newspaper, Listen to your Radio, Commercials on TV and my best suggestion is to use the internet. List them all on a notepad along with their phone numbers.

2. The Commonly Referred Veterinarian

Now that you have a complete list of all the veterinarians around your area, what you have to do next is to call 5 of them on the list. Starting from the first, ask him or her about their client who has the most serious rabbit case that they have no other choice but to refer him or her into another veterinarian. What you need to know is the veterinarian that has been referred to.

After calling the 5 vets on your list and you had found out that they are referring into the same name of veterinarian then you have just found a good vet to visit. If they randomly gave different names then proceed into your next list.

3. Avoid Inexperienced Veterinarians

Do not visit a veterinarian simply due to the reason that his or her clinic is very close from your place unless he or she passes the requirement of what has been stated above. If you do so then you are just wasting your money paying an inexperienced vet and putting your pet's life on real danger that can cost its life.

4. Learning the Field of Expertise of the Vet

Upon knowing the best veterinarian in your town, it doesn't mean that he or she is the right person that you are searching for. You have to find out his or her field of expertise because most common professional veterinarians are those that only have experience on stock animals but not with the house pets.

As a result, they may never had any experiences on neutering or treating a house pet with the right and proper medication. You have to know that neutering a rabbit pet requires some difficulty wherein its quite impossible for a first-timer to pull it off even with so much luck. If a certain improper amount has been applied then it can lead to 'euthanasia'.

Finding an honest and reliable veterinarian can be a hard task especially if there are only few of them that are nearby around your area. But I do know someone who passes over 20 vet clinics nearby her place and travels 45 miles away just to visit her preferred vet.
